Coup De Haslam??? With Tennessee on the verge of committing program suicide by hiring Dave Doeren, an actual booster coup is being discussed on deposing the Haslam family from this hiring process and their leadership role at UT. They've made a complete mess of this deal. Yesterday, in the mid afternoon, a smoldering rumor started regarding major boosters linking together and toppling the Haslams.

Does John Currie Make This Hire? There is serious chatter that he needs to be removed from the process before he makes a hire like Doeren or anything comparable to him. Bev Davenport needs to stand strong.

Don't Blame Jimmy......Blame JIMMY The narrative that yesterday's near miss was the fault of Jimmy Hyams is pure bunk. Sure, Jimmy missed yesterday but he didn't cause that deal to fall apart. What caused that deal to fall apart is the infrastructure built by the House Of Haslam. At this point this is a disgrace.

Just Say Noeren: They can't do this. Even if they've done it, they can't really do this. I mean, this fanbase has been through enough already.

The Book On Dave Doeren: Notoriously thinned skinned. Prickly relationship with local media. Doesn't recruit very well.

Time To Recalibrate: What's the hurry? Why rush into this. Tennessee rushed.

Former Knoxville Radio Personality Alex Anderson joined our extended overtime last night and dropped the knowledge on Dave Doeren.

'Dave Doeren:
NC State fans don't think that it's real because they don't think Tennessee could ever want him.

His record would be
5 wins
5 wins
7 wins

He's a loser.

We'll be coach hunting in 3 yrs.

He has no presence. You can drive by Carter Finley an hour before kickoff and go 55 miles per hour.

He was about to get fired when he was losing to UNC over the weekend.

I work with NC State fans and they were telling me if Dave Doeren went to Florida nobody here would bat an eye. '

Alex Anderson still has it!!!!

We Made Em All Happy: La Tech

NC State

Were any of these fan bases sorry to lose their coach? This place beats all.

AD's 'The kids that weren't good enough to play, personable enough to be on the radio nor smart enough to be on TV so they're stuck in a chair.'

Students Protested: UT Students continuously chanted 'Fire Currie' & 'Hire Kiffin' plus 'Hire Tee'. Here are a couple of highlights. Link

Here's Another....Link

And More!!!! Link

This poor feller jumped the railing where Mercer was emerging. It didn't go too well for him. In fact this takedown looked like our coaching search. Link

Lane Kiffin Wants This Job: He told a major booster friend of mine that he would take the job for well under market value.

Tee Martin Wants The Job: He's got VFL's contacting me to push for him in this space. I love the passion!!! I get it!!! I'm flattered. I appreciate how much he values this place.

Wanna Get Elected Lane Kiffin? Add Tee Martin to your ticket!!! That's how you do this thing!!! Promise to make him your OC/Assistant Head Coach.

Why Lane: He's a hot girlfriend and she wants to come back. They need to make this happen. Kiffin & Tee Martin would be an unstoppable ticket in the election season.

LeBron Left Cleveland And..... We need Lane Kiffin so much more than he needs us. He wants to come back so badly. Lane WOULD do what Tennessee wants which is restore order. He's the very best candidate on the board that would be a homerun hire.

Tennessee Not Done With SchiaNO: He's getting ready to drop a bomb on Tennessee and John Currie in a Chicago court. Watch for it in the next few days. It's coming. UT knows it's coming. It's adding the the intrigue.

'Went to my first UT game at age 2, 1956. Two degrees in the late 70's. Used to have season tickets. DONE WITH THIS. Thank you Tony and gang.

Kathy'

Kathy...I love the passion and hurt right along side of you.

Sympathy Vote Part I: Baron Huber a former Powell Panther and Alabama player called into our 9 hour marathon last night during the whole Dave Doeren fiasco and offered the following.

‘I’m 31 years old. And the games I played at Alabama and as a fan and to this day I attended more games in Neyland Stadium than I have here at Bama. I can remember the 1998 Arkansas game and how upset I was when my Papaw was going to see our Vols lose. Being an East Tennessee boy, It’s painful for me to watch what’s happened to Tennessee football. I respect what the T means.

You guys need somebody like Jeremy Pruitt. He can recruit his balls off and he is sincere in all he does. Plus he’s familiar with the Southeastern Conference. Been under Fisher and Saban. Put together the game plan when we beat Tebow and the Gators in the SEC Title Game. Tennessee deserves somebody better than Dave Doeren.’

Sympathy Vote Part II:
'Tony I first want to say I enjoy your show and listen to it every year the Gamecocks play you guys. I just wanted to bring to your attention that your AD Currie is the one and only reason that Frank Martin is our basketball coach. Frank Martin is one of the biggest straight shooters in the industry and you can see his blood boil when anyone brings up Currie at K State. He left there because of Currie and came to USC and for that reason we here in SC love Currie. Also we played and beat NC State in Charlotte to start this season and Dave Doeren was a total ass. Every fan I talked to at the game could not wait for him to be fired and I actually had NC State fans thank us as we left the game for helping to hopefully get him fired. I can honestly say as a SEC east rival fan I do feel bad about what you guys are going through and I honestly do hope that you guys do find a good coach soon.

Thanks,
John in Florence, SC'

John:
If they hire this joker from NC State our renovation of Neyland Stadium will include excavation of both end zones. That place will need to be warped down to 55,000 and we'll still be lucky to sell it out. It was fun seeing SC make that run last year. As you will see below, I think Frank Martin is popping some serious popcorn watching Currie scramble. That poor guy is such a joke.

SuperStar Alex Myers returns with his latest edition.

Alex Myers
'Today on the blog I want to share some brief thoughts on something that has come to my attention.

I’m far from the first person to notice this, but I want to take a look at why it seems the fans have had a bigger voice than ever during this coaching search.

While the outcry from the fans this go around is nothing new, it’s important to note that it seems stronger, and louder than ever before. It’s my opinion that the fans have been much more vocal this go around than when Derek Dooley was hired, or when Butch Jones was hired. Why is this the case?

Well, for starters, when Dooley was hired we had come off of a semi-exciting one year run from Lane Kiffin. The patience of Vol fans was at a much higher level than it is right now. On top of that, the memories of a successful Phillip Fulmer tenure were still pretty fresh in the minds of Vol fans.

When Butch Jones was hired, fans were desperate to get back to national relevancy. Sure, there were fans that had their doubts, but recruiting took off rather quickly and for a while that seemed to calm some fans who may not have fully agreed with the hire at first.

Fast forward to 2017, and at this point, it’s been long enough that the distaste for what has happened for nearly a decade is now coming to a full blown boil. Memories of big-time success with the program are harder to reach then they were a hire or two ago.

There has been another change, though. Yes, social media was big when Butch Jones was hired. However, this time around fans have been quicker to voice their opinion strongly to those in charge. Maybe it wouldn’t be a big deal if this happened on occasion, but over the past few weeks, the activity of Vol Twitter has climaxed into a deafening outcry for change. Whether or not it made a difference before is beside the point- now, your voice is being heard.

By no means am I saying that the leaders at UT are basing their decisions off of what coach someone suggests in a tweet to them. What I am saying though, is that when enough people come together to voice their displeasure with something, it can make a real difference. If you need any further proof of that, look back no further than the events that took place Sunday afternoon.

While the events of the last few days have yet to produce a new coach, one thing is for sure. Tennessee fans now realize that they have an outlet where they can let their voice be heard. I wouldn’t be shocked to see other fan bases follow in Vol fans’ footsteps in the future. When a group of people feel like that have little to no power finally figure out a way to make a difference, they don’t typically soon forget that. Like it or not, right or wrong, Tennessee fans’ voices have been heard this time around.

Until Next Time,
Go Vols,
Alex Myers (@AlexMyersTV)'

Alex...Great stuff. They better not hire Doeren or they're going to have a nearly impossible time selling tickets. Meanwhile I'm going to serve this fanbase with a fervor never seen before as we try to get UT Football back to respectability.

Rough time for the HOH. Link

Final Thought: Yesterday was such a disaster because Jimmy Haslam wasn't in court down in Chattanooga. Think about it.

FAQ's Asked Of Tony Per Our Relaunch Announcement:

Q: Tony, you didn't say anything about your daily show yesterday. Will you continue to do this?

A: Absolutely. I'm looking forward to year #24 with you.

Q: Tony, you used the word 'subscribe'. What Am I subscribing too?

A: Great question. 'Subscribe' is a misnomer. What you actually are doing if you choose to help us monthly (and we need this for budgeting reasons) is actually acting as a patron. The goal is to keep the content (ALL CONTENT, from postgame offerings to various podcasts) free for all.

Q: So, if I'm not subscribing and I'm already reading this, why give?

A: Because you value the content and our contribution to the market and you want to help us keep this stuff free for everybody.

Q: Are you going to beat us up for money all the time here?

A: Absolutely not. I will bring this up a few times heading into the football season as we attempt to meet our financial goals and create new programming. I'll also mention it in the post-game format as well as the regional programming. I will not however wear you out with this. Either you feel the need to help us or you don't. This is why I'm taking today to field some question I received after day one.

Q: What happens if this doesn't generate the revenue you're seeking?

A: We will scale back our online offerings accordingly. The blog itself could even disappear. I really don't want this to happen but will be forced to spend my time in the most profitable way necessary. That's why we're having the conversation. All my cards are on the table here.

Q: Where can I find these new podcasts, like that X-Cast?

A: Click on "Podcast" wherever you see it on the site, and it will take you to our Podcast page.

Missouri Game Preview

The Vols did what they were expected to do against UConn. There's not really much to say about that game. The game this Saturday in Columbia, Missouri will decide whether or not this season is a failure in my opinion. If they Vols lose, they are staring at 8-4 and probably the Gator Bowl. Maybe Reliaquest..... [more]

The Vols are coming back to Neyland Stadium and I am returning after a discretionary bye week. I'll be honest with you. This year it seems like I've been writing the same preview over and over because the formula to win has been the same pretty much every SEC game. I didn't want to sound like a broken record so I needed a bit of a break from that.

I'll start with some general observations..... [more]
