Tony,
The NBA season isn't quite done yet. That is the only thing between sports fans and the long, lazy days of summer.
1. The Rocky Top League tips off tonight. That will provide fans a glimpse of the athleticism of Tennessee's newcomers.
2. Marcus Lee is a quality addition for Cuonzo Martin. He'll slide into Ivan Rabb's spot after he sits out a year.
3. Jeremy Foley has set the standard for athletic directors in the SEC. His hirings have usually been strokes of genius.
4. Terrance Ferguson going overseas to play instead of enrolling at Arizona is another example of bad advice limiting a prospect's options. Having Prime Prep Academy on your transcript is a sure way to ensure NCAA scrutiny of your eligibility.
5. Iceland getting a draw against Portugal is one of those seismic upsets that make sports great. It'll be intriguing to see how each team responds to that result.
6. Brazil needs a complete overhaul of their operation now. There is no reason for them to ever bowl out of a major competition early.
7. The NHL is ahead of the game in putting a team in Las Vegas. At least one other major sports league will dive in within the next 18 months.
8. Jamal Murray seems to be making a real case for himself as the third pick in the NBA Draft. Shooters like him are the hot commodity in the current era.
9. The atmosphere in Cleveland tomorrow night will be akin to Thunderdome. The Cavaliers need to ride that wave to have a shot at forcing the series the distance.
