Phillip Fulmer Appreciation Thursday:
Phillip Fulmer Way A One Way Street? News leaked out yesterday that Phillip Fulmer is being paid a buyout of $37,500 per month after overseeing the ruination of Tennessee football. Him taking this money is absolutely shameless. Not only shouldn't UT pay him a dime, but they should take his sky box and perks from him as well. He's The Battle Captain all right ... and the Exxon Voldez has left a terrible mess washing up to the banks of the Tennessee River off the apron of Neyland Stadium. It's disgraceful.
The Four Made It Official Last Night: Henry To’o To’o, Quavaris Crouch, Eric Gray, and Jahmir Johnson made it official last night by jumping into the portal. Quoting Brian Hartman, don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya. Tennessee football is bigger than these guys. Tennessee football shouldn't be a transactional endeavor for those involved. I want players that want to be here. Everybody involved deserves better. Sad times indeed.
Rodney Garner Would Be A Nice Addition: Kevin Steele is seemingly assembling a formidable defensive staff with the widely discussed potential addition of Rodney Garner as D Line coach. Garner is a tremendous recruiter but an underrated developer of D lineman. He'd be a nice get for the Vols cause we need to see developed ballplayers here.
Homecoming For Kevin Simon? A former great linebacker from the Fulmer glory days is under strong consideration to be moved to linebackers coach from inside the building. If this comes to fruition, Simon will have a terrific opportunity to learn under Kevin Steele who's regarded as one of the top LB coaches in the game.
Another Possible Addition To UT Is ... Watch out of for Levorn Harbin to be added to the staff soon. Harbin was Director Of Recruiting at Auburn and is expected to serve in a similar role in Knoxville. Harbin is a guy that is very well respected in that business. I was told yesterday that Harbin was highly instrumental in helping Auburn best Tennessee for DL Jay Hardy out of Chattanooga back in fall of 2019.
The AD Timeline Is Worth Watching: This AD Deal needs to get done but Donde Plowman is committed for now to having an AD search ... What we saw the last time this spot at Tennessee was open is that other AD's played Tennessee for raises and better deals. If this happens this time Tennessee will spin their wheels and perhaps waste some precious time.
Candidates You Might Hear From Parker: Mike White's brother at UCF
Jamie Pollard Iowa State
Brian Naggard Louisiana
Blake Toppmeyer Is Right On Parker: They are mediocre at best with a spotty track record for Tennessee. And spotty is a very kind adjective ...

Two Names Are Off Tennessee's Shortlist: Tony Basilio Show Co-Host/Producer Brian Hartman says damn Bama is playing a different game than everyone else in this league. It's sickening.

'It's official. For those who were concerned that Tennessee might hire Doug Marrone to replace Jeremy Pruitt, you can stop now. That's because Marrone, the recently fired head coach of the NFL's Jaguars, will join Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa. He will be Alabama's offensive line coach. Marrone will be the second recently fired NFL head coach to join Nick Saban's staff in Tuscaloosa. Bill O'Brien, former head coach AND GM of the Houston Texans, was named Bama's offensive coordinator.
Alabama has so much power that very experienced NFL head coaches now go there for rehab. Even a former NFL GM. I thought Marrone's chances of being the next coach at Tennessee were slim to none. However, I was sure he would land on his feet in the NFL as a coordinator somewhere, and it would happen quickly. That's usually what happens with head coaches who get fired. Not this time. Doug Marrone is a college POSITION coach. At ALABAMA. He must have found Alabama's opportunity more attractive than whatever NFL feelers he received. Hey Tennessee and the rest of the SEC, good luck trying to compete with that.
Both O'Brien and Doug Marrone have been head coaches in college before. It had been awhile. I would think they would want to stay in the NFL after being head coaches in the AFC South for 4 and 6 years respectively. Unfortunately for us, Alabama has an NFL franchise masquerading as a college football program. I doubt any of the other Power 5 schools could have lured either one to their campus, even to be a HEAD COACH. Much less to be an OC or a lowly position coach. The rich get even richer. Must be nice. Wish we could relate.

Tennessee Baseball Coach Tony Vitello Stopped By.. Your Tony Basilio Show yesterday and here were some of the highlights
Baseball Schedule Gonna Start On Time Feb 19th.
SEC Gonna play 30 games.
Tennessee wanted 12 weekends of 4 games. 48 total games.
We would've played 8 warm up games.
I thought we'd end up at 40 and now it's back to 30 then politics got involved.
It would've been a great value for fans. It would've been a scout's dream. And great for television. Everybody should want to play more. I argue that the NCAA should allow us to play 60 games.
I'm 24 hours a day trying to put our schedule together. My assistants are preparing the teams.
This is about what schools are allowing teams to do.
We have between 45-50 guys. We'll probably be leaving 15 home when we travel in the league.
We're going to try and get guys in different spots and experiment to leave no stone unturned.
SEC is insane this year. It will be like seeing double a baseball this year. You'll see 5th and 6th year players out there.
800 fans being allowed in. We've always had loyal fans. Hopefully we can allow more fans as we go.
