Going to be a really great day for me! Pumped for today's show as we will have both Bubba Ray Dudley and Mike Huguenin on live. Also, I get to play some music tonight at Clancy's Tavern and Whiskey House with David Bivin & Lance McCluskey as part of the Fountain City Ramblers. We have some really cool stuff worked up tonight including a really interesting dual guitar, mandolin version of Led Zeppelin's Rain Song. I'm really pleased with the progress we've made. Hope you can get out and enjoy our show tonight. We start tonight at 7p sharp at Clancy's on Gay Street!
Can you believe Tennessee kicks it off four weeks from today? I can't comprehend that. Summer has blown by. Practice begins on Monday. Tennessee is all in for 2016. First ever Thursday game followed by the most attended game in college football history played in a speedway. Then we have the main event when Florida visits Neyland Stadium. So many firsts in September. Most importantly this will be the first time Tennessee beats Florida in 12 tries. Dig that. I was opining with Dr. Sinclair yesterday that this season is either going to be boom or bust. I don't see much in between. Put it this way. If Tennessee goes 9-3 this year, most fans will consider it a letdown. I'll bet you that Tennessee must go 10-2 or better for this fan base to be happy. 9-3 and missing the SEC Title game will not fly here. Even if 1 of the wins occurs over Florida, 9 wins won't be enough without a trip to Atlanta. Boom or bust. That's where I'm at heading into this season.

Is Missouri's color the same as police tape? I'm thinking police tape is Mizzou yellow and black. I'm thinking Mizzou's athletic department is a crime scene.

It might be me but it always seems like the Steelers have guys getting suspended by the NFL for drugs...What's up with that?

I like Justin Timberlake. He's musically talented, has some great tunes, and he loves his sports. He's fighting for Memphis with Big 12 inclusion. Good luck.

As a society we fail our military in the worst way possible. This is disgraceful.

I like Tim Tebow. I really do. He seems like a nice man. But he's done as a football player. Yet the media doesn't seem able to let him go. Why?

'Hey tony, it’s the end of summer and your topic Tuesday was excellent!!! I remember my dad coming to pick me up from basketball camp in an old 1970s jeep, telling me how happy he was that I won an award for shooting that week. For a future show, lets project what will football be like in 5 years? 10 years? what will the SEC be in 5 years? 10 years? Will college offenses continue to be spread dominated? What will be the next evolution at the college level? Super conferences, will teams go the other way and run the ball old school?
Vic, Nashville'
Vic: Great hearing from you. I'll never forget being picked up by my brother after getting cut from a high school team. I was heartbroken and he was cool enough to spend several hours with me as we drove around and talked it out. It was huge. I'll never forget it. As for your show topics. I like! I'll tell you this. I don't know what the next big thing in college football will be but there will be a next big thing. Because the sport always evolves. Both offensively and defensively the sport is ever changing. Yet at the same time it still looks a lot like the game that General Neyland coached. Amazing if you stop and think about it.
'Hey Tone - Someone probably already corrected this, but the Vols played in the SEC Championship in 1997, 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2007. That's 5 out of 11 years, which isn't too shabby. Which one slipped past the steal trap that is your mind?
Bigger Al'
Nice catch by you. That was quite a decade for the Vols, wasn't it? How long ago does the last SEC Title by the Vols seem? It feels like it's been 20 years. Good catch by you. I guess I forgot the 2001 game as it's been erased through therapy.
It all starts exactly 4 weeks from today for us! Can you believe that?
Final thought...I would rather have Derek Dooley coaching at Tennessee for the next 100 years than see my alma mater associated with a sports story like this one.

Finally: I'm hunting for a hypnotist and a mental health professional (therapist) to come on the air with me during Florida week. I'm telling you right now that we need to get this done by all means necessary.
Tomorrow...Orange Throat will have the latest on Dave Hart's feeble attempts to hold on to his job into 2017.
