Are you a golfer or know a golfer? Well we're setting the table today on the Tony Basilio Show for a huge golf weekend at Fairways and Greens. Their annual Super Demo Day and Open House is this Saturday May 7th from 10AM to 3PM. It is, of course, free to the public and you're invited to bring a friend. You don't have to be a member. Please spread the word for me and let folks know that a bunch of manufacturers will be there. Beeee Theeeeerrrrreeee.
Neiko Creamer is one legacy Vol that it didn't work out for. He came in as a back and shuffled around and never really found his place. Like all prospects, legacy players are hit and miss too.

Wonderful appearance yesterday on the show by Spencer Riley. The former Vol National Champion offensive lineman is the new head coach at Jefferson County High School where he played back in the day. Riley is a blood and guts man. He was an all time tough guy when he played and always a leader. Dr. Sean Sinclair asked him a great question about that '98 National Title team regarding the number of guys that have gone on to major success in business and life. A lot of life leaders from that team. Riley doesn't think it's accidental. "Thing about that team is that we weren't the most talented, but nobody out worked us. And I mean nobody out worked up. We all prided ourselves on always going into a game over prepared," Riley said. Yes indeed. That is some great stuff.

In today's installment, AB from Nashville checks in with a well researched correspondence that should scare anyone thinking that it's a great idea to proceed in court with that lawsuit. Settle....Settle...Settle...

'You have been clear about dropping the Title XI case.
This last smudge from the judge was par for the course. I took a minute to Google our judge in this case and I will ask you opinion.
Are these facts pros or cons for the university of Tennessee
71 years old
Female
Denver, CO
Cornell undergrad
Vanderbilt grad school
Vanderbilt Law school
Clinton appointee
Pro Gay marriage/ union
A judge's greatest strength is to be there integrity about the Law. Yet, we know there are liberal and conservative stances they take. I personally look at each of those facts about A.A. Trauger as a con as it pertains to our university's situation and this law suit.
This woman, I would suppose, has zero concern about college football, southern traditions, and a way of life that most male Tennessee fans, players, coaches, and administration have. She most likely has negative feelings toward the things many of us cherish. She has a chance to do what judges and politicians love to do...take a stand, set a precedent, and leave their mark before they leave office.
I have not wanted to roll over and show our belly on this. I wanted to fight it and win for the sake of those dudes who have been smeared in the press. But one look at wiki and I am terrified of the judgment to come from the liberal left Ivy league / commodore on the bench. There is a palpable grudge the elite Nashvillian has against the Vols...better believe that. The Tennessean has made that point abundantly clear.
And quite frankly it gets worse. I just read through 4 of her recent decisions. Evidence is not more important than opinion. She rules as she wishes...we need to act like Brave brave Sir Robin from Monty Python The Holy Grail...
RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!!!!
Appreciate your show. Keep keeping it real.

AB:
That's an awesome e-mail because it never would've dawned on me to consider the decisions of this judge as a reason for settling. My angle on this situation has always been that no sitting head coach in the SEC needs to be under discovery. Can you imagine the witnesses they could dig up against Butch Jones? And it doesn't matter what's true or not. All that would matter at that point is allegations made would get into public record and thus soil his reputation. That's what this is all about anyway. Never forget that's what this is about. Embarrassing Tennessee and bringing down the evil men and Dave Hart is what this is wholly about. Your angle, AB, is great because if this judge's history is any indication, just getting to trial could be futile. Why? Why put yourself through this? Why do this to your brand? Great work AB!
Congrats to the Hawks. They've decided that the natural order of things is stronger than the great vibes of Leicester City. The Hawks got blowed (sic) out last night in Cleveland in game two of their second round series. The Hawks were down 74-38 at the half. Can you imagine being a Hawks fan? Talk about futility and suckatude. Cleveland bombed in 18 threes in the first half in that game? Did the Hawks even try on defense? Why bother.
Fox and ESPN are playing chicken. Longhorn Network is a complete loser.

Smokies are home all weekend hosting Mississippi. Tons of prospects for the Mississippi Braves. Check 'em out if you get the chance. Here's more on what will be on display this weekend at Smokies Stadium.

Mike Detillier will be on with me today. It will a real blessing catching up with him. One of the things we will discuss is the impossible nature of the NFL draft. Who knows why first rounders regularly wash out while free undrafted free agents regularly star in that league. This article misses the most obvious one. Who are others you can add to this rather incomplete list from the SEC. Where's Foster Mom?

Final thought: If I'm the Big 12 and it's all about TV, I'm taking University of Cincinnati and Memphis. I'm getting a strong Midwestern TV market, plus I'm setting myself up right in the middle of the SEC footprint. Plus Memphis is the 50th largest TV market in America. That’s not exactly chopped liver. Cincy is market #36. Done deal.
