Super Bowl 50

The biggest sporting event of the year is upon us. Super Bowl 50 is set. The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos are set to square off in possibly the most anticipated Super Bowl in years.

Two star studded defenses will headline this game. For the Broncos, the defensive line will be key. Malik Jackson, Von Miller, and Demarcus Ware must get pressure on Cam Newton and make him uncomfortable. On the other side, it will be Josh Norman and Luke Kuechly. Kuechly is a tackling machine and Norman will most likely be defending Demarius Thomas which will limit what Peyton Manning can do offensively.

Cam Newton has had an MVP caliber season. The same cannot be said for his counterpart Peyton Manning. Manning struggled early this season but Denver found ways to win games. Manning would eventually suffer from a torn plantar fascia. Backup quarterback Brock Osweiler had to step up and did for the most part. Manning finally got healthy but the team was rolling and Coach Kubiak did not want to mess things up. This meant that for the first time since his freshman season at Tennessee, Peyton Manning would be a backup quarterback. However, in week 17 Osweiler struggled which led to him being benched, and Manning leading his team to a comeback win to lock up the number one seed in the AFC.

The two quarterbacks could not be more different. Manning is at the end of his career, Cam is in his prime. Cam can scramble and is a huge run threat, while Peyton is a pocket passer and is known for his audibles at the line of scrimmage. Peyton is very humble and a well-respected player, while Cam is very controversial and what some might call arrogant.

Will Cam get his first ring? Or will Manning ride off into the
sunset and capture his second Super Bowl crown and silence his critics?

I think Cam and the Panthers will be too much for Denver, but I thought the same two weeks ago against the Patriots. Does Peyton have one more game left in him? Let's hope so.
