NBA Conference Semis Predictions (Best of 7, higher seed has games 1,2,5, and 7 at home)
Posted: Sun, May 1st, 2011, 10:36 AM
#1) Chicago Bulls vs #5) Atlanta Hawks
Bulls PG Derrick Rose is playing like an MVP. The Hawks upset Orlando in round 1, but its hard to see them flying any further. The bulls in Pamplona are safer than the ones in Chicago right now.
Prediction: Bulls in 6

#2 Miami Heat vs #3 Boston Celtics
The Heat's LaBron James had to face the Celtics in the Conference semis in 2008 and 2010 when he was a Cleveland Cavalier. Boston won both times in route to the NBA finals. Could we see one last Shaq attack? Could it be the Big 3's last stand?
Prediction: Celtics in 6

Western Conference
#2 L.A. Lakers vs #3 Dallas Mavericks
The Lakers Kobe Bryant may have something to say about who wins the MVP. This is the first playoff meeting between these two teams since they both became western conference powers.
Prediction: Lakers in 6

#4 Oklahoma City Thunder vs #8 Memphis Grizzlies
Another league MVP candidate, OKC's Kevin Durant, led the Thunder to there 1st playoff series win since the franchise moved from Seattle. The Grizzlies upset the #1 San Antonio Spurs in the 1st round, giving Memphis their first playoff series victory in franchise history. Kevin Durant vs. the Grizzlies Zach Randolph is a matchup many fans drool over. Starting to like the in-state franchise, but I like home court advantage better
Prediction: Thunder in 7.

If you have dropped a four-letter word in the last few days it was most likely because your NCAA March Madness bracket is busted! For context, I’ve said a lot of four-letter words as my bracket is currently holding down the basement in every pool I am in.

Madness

Originally, I planned to post more of a bracketology blog before Thursday’s tipoff. However, the madness already started when I made the mistake of calling my twin brother to simply ask him “Texas Tech or NC State”..... [more]

We can now officially congratulate Caitlin Clark on breaking the record for the most points scored in women’s basketball!

Caitlin Clark is the biggest superstar in college basketball (men’s or women’s). That’s not just me being a fan, Caitlin Clark is HER! Caitlin scored 49 points on February 15th to pass Kelsey Plum’s NCAA record for the most career points in women’s college basketball..... [more]
Missouri Game Preview

The Vols did what they were expected to do against UConn. There's not really much to say about that game. The game this Saturday in Columbia, Missouri will decide whether or not this season is a failure in my opinion. If they Vols lose, they are staring at 8-4 and probably the Gator Bowl. Maybe Reliaquest..... [more]

The Vols are coming back to Neyland Stadium and I am returning after a discretionary bye week. I'll be honest with you. This year it seems like I've been writing the same preview over and over because the formula to win has been the same pretty much every SEC game. I didn't want to sound like a broken record so I needed a bit of a break from that.

I'll start with some general observations..... [more]
